Intervention and prevention services are provided for survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault. Children’s Services are designed to help meet the needs of children from homes experiencing domestic violence. The children’s counselor also works with mothers in the shelter on parenting skills. Outreach Services are available to victims of domestic violence who are seeking emergency shelter services or who are former shelter residents or victims of sexual assault. This program is offered in the women’s home when appropriate. Services include counseling, advocacy, support, community referrals, and transportation to appointments. Batterer’s Intervention program also available. Support Groups are offered for domestic violence victims & sexual assault victims, facilitated by staff members in Isabella, Gratiot and Clare counties.
